Information for Apprentices & Trainees

General Information

Once employed by Myriad Group Training, a training contract is signed by Myriad Group Training and the apprentice/trainee. The term of the contract varies depending on the apprenticeship/traineeship you choose. It also depends on whether you have any past experience through training or work experience.
Generally an apprenticeship is approximately 4 years and a traineeship is 12 months.
Apprenticeships and traineeships have a probation period of 3 months – this gives both you and Myriad Group Training time to make sure you both wish to proceed.

While Myriad Group Training would be your employer, you will be hosted out and trained by our “Host Employers”.
Myriad Group Training can place you in any particular industry you hold an interest and in which you would like to obtain an Apprenticeship. Some of the more popular industries include: Automotive; Carpentry; Cabinet Making; Electrical; Fitness; Plumbing; Office Administration; Horticulture; Retail; IT; Hospitality; Tourism; Legal; Painting and Decorating. There are many other industries available, and Myriad Group Training can assist you with any preference you have.

There are many advantages to being employed by Myriad Group Training. For example, if your interests lie in the Building Industry, through Myriad Group Training you could be rotated amongst different builders, therefore learning not only how to build houses, but potentially also hospitals, schools, high rise buildings, and five star hotels.

When you successfully complete your apprenticeship/traineeship you will receive a nationally recognised qualification. This means your training is recognised throughout Australia.

School Based Group Training

School based Group Training is designed to allow young people to commence employment based training while completing year 11 and 12 of their education.
Students are able to remain at school for up to 4 days a week, be engaged in paid employment for an average of 10 hours per week, and receive nationally accredited training.

A training contract is a contract signed by Myriad Group Training and the apprentice/trainee. The term of the contract varies depending on the apprenticeship/traineeship you choose. Whilst Myriad Group Training would be your employer, you would be hosted out and trained by our “Host Employers”.

For example, if your interest is in the Tourism industry, you could be rotated amongst different areas in Tourism to give you broader knowledge of the Industry, and gain an idea as to the particular type of work you are most interested in. i.e. Sales, Tour Guide, Consultant, Reservations, Attractions etc.

When you successfully complete your apprenticeship/traineeship you will receive a nationally recognised qualification. This means your training is recognised throughout Australia.
