Australian Apprentice Access Program
The Australian Apprentice Access Program assists job get better skills and improves their chances of getting an Australian Apprenticeship or Traineeship. Whether it is a full time, part time or School Based Apprenticeship / Traineeship you are seeking we can assist. Job seekers can also use the Access Program to get into employment, or further education or training.
What do you get?
Participation in the Access Program will:
- help you work out what you need so you are 'job ready' and keep you on track with your goals.
- train you in the basic skills needed for industry. This training is nationally recognised and linked to an Australian Apprenticeship pathway.
- support you while you are looking for work by helping you with such things as working out the best job opportunities, writing a good CV and preparing for interviews.
- provide good support to keep you going if things get tough while you are looking for work.
- help with settling in during the first 13 weeks of your Australian Apprenticeship or job.
What will I have to do?
You will have to:
- work with MGT personnel to agree on the best plan to help you prepare for work or get the skills to look for work.
- willingly take part in training and other services MGT personnel might offer you.
- make good use of the learning opportunities.
- willingly do things that will help you look for and get work.
Will I be stuck in a class room every day?
No, while this is a 13 week course you will be required to visit industries and potential employers, complete out of office activities, complete classroom studies and possibly complete work experience.
How much will this cost me?
The program is Federal Government funded and as such it is free to participants if you meet the eligibility requirements. What will I need to bring with me?
A positive attitude, copy of school reports, copies of qualifications you have gained, the names of at least two referees, your lunch and did we mention a positive attitude. We will provide the rest for you, printing, paperwork, biros and computer internet access for job search purposes.
